Carolyn Kache

My names are Carolyne Kache and I am in class 7 in Mwangaza Visionary School. My former school was Mwananyati primary and by then I was in class 7. Then it reached a time when my parents were unable to pay the school fees; I could not believe it and was very sorry about it.

It forced all of us to drop out of school. We are 9(nine) in our family. We went back home to our village in Ganze (Kwale District) the place is very interior and dry.

I desired to pursue my studies but things did not work well for me but I trusted God that one day He will make a way.

During my stay in the village, I had kept two chickens. Little did I know that they will be of great help to me; so I decided to sell them. Thank God because He does not leave his righteous to suffer, through that struggle, I managed to sell them for Kshs. 400/=.

Though I stayed out of school for one year, I managed to go back in the year 2001 with Kshs. 400/= to school (Mwangaza Visionary) to secure a vacancy.

was interviewed with class one exams, because the teachers wanted to know how well I could perform. I passed very well and they accepted what I gave them for fees. Can you image from class 7 (seven) to class 1 (one)? Unbelievable!!!.

Through God’s help, I managed to be in class 4 after going through class 1-3. Then the struggles began. I thought everything was over; no shoes, uniform, school fees. I was going through hardships.
I decided to go and work as a maid in town. I worked for one and a half years. Through my hard work, I was paid Kshs. 1500.

I went and bought new shoes, uniform, bag and I said truly Jesus is Lord. My parents were happy but unfortunately in the year 2002, my dad passed away. By that time, my mother was also sick. She had a swollen leg. She was taken to Makadara, and Mswabweni hospitals. Nothing promising came up and she passed away.

I had a sponsor. Soon after my mother passed away, I went back to our village because my brothers wanted me to be near them, though I didn’t like it, but had to be obedient. As you read my testimony, I am an orphan and my prayer is that God will touch you and be a good Samaritan who will help me complete my education and come back to my own community and help them.

God bless you.

Emmanuel Suleiman

My father’s name is Mr. Suleiman. Am a Digo by tribe from Kwale district in a village called Jorori. We are Muslims. I came to know Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour when I joined Mwangaza Visionary School. My dad is a witch doctor. My parents are not educated and not working, my father does temporary work to earn a living for our family.

I am in class 7 (seven), joined the school in 2001. I thank God for the school because the management has been very patient with me because I could not pay my school fees. The only money that my parents had was Kshs. 300/= (three hundred only).

That is what I paid when joining and am really grateful to God because I am still in school though I have a very big debt to clear. My desire through God’s help is that I will be able to complete school and become somebody in the community to come back and help my people.

The challenge which I get is to look for temporary work/jobs to enable me buy books, pencils etc and sometimes it becomes so difficult that most of the time I feel like quitting. My prayer is that I will get good Samaritans who will come to my rescue and help me. May the good God minister to you as you read this testimony.

God bless You.

Mariam Sulemani

My name is Mariam Sulemani. I’m in Class seven. Jesus is the Savior of my life. I’m 16 years old, in Mwangaza Visionary School and I would like to give a brief history of my life.

I began School here in nursery in 1998 as a young girl, proceeded on well with all the love from my parents and family but little did I know that it would be short lived. Whenever I had problems my parents were always there but when I reached STD four the help ceased. I faced problems that I couldn’t handle. I have both parents who cannot educate me among other reasons, the poor economic status. May father is an irresponsible drunkard.

At that time my elder brothers decided to get me married off at the consent of my father. They decided I should leave school; a scheme well planned. One day I arrived home from Church and I met what was meant to be my destiny. I was questioned as to where I had slept, they descended on me with blows and kicks and I received a thorough beating in October 2004.

They sent me off like a dog to get married but I stood my grounds and told them it was rubbish since I was still young and God was on my side. Since then I always pleaded with my parents to educate me but my cry always fallen on deaf ears. Plenty was said, “look for a job”, “get married” to deviate me from my dream. It was at this breaking point in STD five that I decided to talk to the Head teacher, Mr. Robert and Pastor Felix.

I thank God for the school and the two for their concern. They encouraged me, warned my parents about forcing me into marriage and allowed me to continue with free education at the school. They also promised to pray for me. If it was not for the school intervening, I wouldn’t be in STD. seven today. Not to be a bother for asking too much, I do various things like digging for people and plaiting peoples hair to enable me buy shoes, books, pens, oil, soap and fuel so that I can study over the weekends.

My parents and family are quiet just waiting for an opportunity for me to drop out of school so that they can get bride price. My fear and worry is after STD 8 what next? Mr. Robert and Pastor Felix wont be there after primary School. My concern now as advised is to settle and concentrate, above all look up to God for He is our hope and provider.

On behalf of the many of my nature, if you have been touched by God to do something, change the community, don’t hesitate you are greatly welcome. Our future lies in the hands of God.

May God bless you.
